We take great pride in offering the BEST programs for absolutely all skill levels and ages!  We have classes that are specifically designed for kids as they begin their Jiu Jitsu journey and we follow the same program as taught at the Art of Jiu Jitsu Academy which is known world-wide as having the best kids program!  

We also offer classes for adults of all experience levels!  If you are brand new to BJJ you will LOVE our Beginners program!

Kids Program for ATOS JIU JITSU HAMILTON

 

At Atos Jiu Jitsu Hamilton, we take great pride in providing the highest level of instruction for your child in an enjoyable and safe environment! Not only is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu a fantastic self-defense, it is also a great way for your child to get in shape, develop their motor skills and coordination, make friends and have fun. BJJ is a contact sport that will empower your child with self-confidence and it will teach your child to persevere on and off the mats! Our main focus, as instructors, is to develop a sense of focus, hard work ethic and to develop a positive attitude for your child. Classes include a warm up, techniques, drilling, games and live training with a partner. These classes are separated by age and belt level.

 
 

Kids Beginner

The Beginner Program was created to ensure that all new students will start their jiu jitsu journey with a strong foundation. The curriculum is centered around basic techniques from every position as well as core concepts that will aid in the students development. The beginners program is only open to white belt students.

Kids Ages 6–8

Our Kids Ages 6-8 Program is designed to help students build a strong foundation and improve their overall understanding of jiu jitsu. The curriculum for this program includes both beginner and fundamental techniques, coordination drills, interactive games as well as exploring core concepts and ideas.

Kids Ages 8+

The Kids Ages 8+ Program is designed to build a strong foundation and improve student’s coordination. Student’s will receive an overview of all positions, techniques and an introduction into more advanced jiu jitsu. Students will also be given explanations of core jiu jitsu concepts and ideas.

Juveniles

The Juveniles Program is for students ages 12-16 focused primarily on competition. Program curriculum is centered around competition scenarios and more advanced jiu jitsu. Students will cover positions more in-depth and work towards building a more complete jiu jitsu game. Entry into this program requires instructor approval.

Adult Beginner's Program

 

Every athlete in any sport must first learn the basics. The same is true when you are learning one of the most practical self-defense systems in the world. This class focuses on the essential techniques of BJJ so that you can develop a solid foundation as you progress through the ranks to the eventual goal of earning a black belt. The length of this program is usually 8 – 12 weeks (depending on the student’s progress). Once the students have successfully completed this program and earned their first stripe on their white belt, they are able to begin the Fundamentals Program.

Adult BJJ Program

Our BJJ Program consists of a system of core techniques and drills that every Jiu-Jitsu student should learn and master combined with the most innovative and advanced techniques that keep us on the forefront of the competition circuit. The goal of the core techniques and drills of the BJJ Program is to prepare the student to move from white belt to blue belt in approximately 10 - 12 months. We focus on providing a high level of instruction so that a new student will be able to develop their level while more advanced students are able to continually improve and to continue to progress through the ranks of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The goal of the adult program is to keep the student on track to achieve the eventual goal of earning a BLACK BELT! Classes cover the techniques made famous by Professors Rafael and Guilherme Mendes called “Modern Jiu Jitsu” Classes will also focus on developing the students own personal style of Jiu Jitsu and it consists of hard drilling, live training and conditioning.

NoGi Program

Students will have the opportunity to learn the same modern jiu jitsu being taught in the gi programs but learn how to adapt them to nogi situations. Students must train in appropriate nogi apparel such as shorts and t-shirt or rash guard. To attend these classes students must have completed the beginners BJJ program.  

 

Program goals:

  • Improve overall jiu jitsu understanding
  • Help students balance gi and nogi techniques

Curriculum includes:

  • Attacks, defences and escapes from every position
  • Core concepts and ideas
  • Positional, situational & live sparring
